picnic

M-I III

this is insane...

Today when I was on my way home, I saw a goose family: father, mother, and a flock of baby geese! The baby geese were quite  ugly indeed, with only a little "hair" on their heads. The parents geese are quite vigilant to passers-by. When I went close to them, the two of them opened their mouths to me, sounding intimidating voice to me. But they really don't have to do that to me, coz I will never hurt a goose!

saw a duck family today

This morning, when I was on my way to the University, I saw a mother duck followed by 5 baby ducks strolling on the roadside. They are so cute! (again no photos sorry:)

saw a raccoon yesterday

Yesterday when I was on my way home, walking past an on-campus residence building, suddenly I noticed ahead of me a large living thing (when I say large, I mean larger than squirrels and geese which can be seen all over the campus). After I move closer, I realized it was a raccoon! This is the first time I've ever seen a real raccoon. It has black spots around the eyes, and striped tail (yellow and black), just as in pictures and cartoons. This is amazing!

Now the raccoon is added to my list of wild animals that I got a visual of, which already included: squirrels, geese, rabbits, ducks, beavers, skunks.

An interesting side note: the smell of a skunk can go as far as 5 miles. So never ever make a skunk angry!
